The Robot Water Pistol uses a different design to other similar toys. The water nozzle isn't located in the end of a hand and instead is part of the right shoulder. The right arm is simply a wide, hollow tube for the water to squirt through. This simplified construction removes the need for extra tubing and seals. It also means the toy could lose the entire blue section and still function as a squirt gun.
The origin of this toy is unknown. All other Androform models share a Blue-Box manufacture stamp, while the Water Pistol is only stamped, 'Made in Hong Kong'. The back of the left hand has what appears to be a slide on mounting plate but an accessory wasn't included with the Blue-Box release. This could indicate it originally came with extra parts for a previous release, or it was Blue-Box idea that didn't make it to production.
The box artwork shows a robot with a red head and shoulders while the production version is blue. Again this could possibly be a hint of what a previous versions looked like or maybe an unused Blue-Box colour scheme.
