'Robot Converts to Car with Pull Back Action'
The Dashbots (all plastic) Police Car is a transforming robot toy that was sold in at least three colour schemes; black, red or green on a black base all with white central paint. The black and white version is visually identical to the metal and plastic release bar a slight variance in the white paint used.
The Police Car is the same base sculpt as the Dashbots Firebird with a different paint application and the emergency lights bar added to the roof. While the police specific stickers are unique, it shares the rear window sticker with the Firebird.
The emergency roof lights on many of both the metal and plastic and all plastic Police Car Dashbots are installed on a slight angle.
It was released a number of times and eventually in this cost reduced, all plastic version; see separate page in this section for the metal and plastic example.
Like all Dashbots, the Police Car features a powerful pull back, wind up motor that competently sends it dashing across the floor.
See Dashbots main index for further details.

Trivia The Dashbots Police Car's face and belt are loosely based on the Gobots Hans-Cuff, or more specifically the Machine Robo Series, Patrol Car Robo sculpt. The Machine Robo link is more likely as the Dashbots Dune Buggy and Ferrari were adapted from existing Japanese model kids and it's highly likely the Police Car was as well; yet to be confirmed.
