'Mechancial Design Art Book'
Released in 2015 by Japanese publisher Genkosha Co., this fantastic art book showcases the techincal deisgn works of artist Takahiro Yamada.
The largely black and white book focuses on his works for Machine Robo, Eldran, Dagwon, Exkizer, Dougram, Battle Spirits and Gao Gai Gar with a few pages of Gundam and other franchies towards the back.
The 30 x 21cm, 174 page book is worth firing up your translation app of choice to enjoy. Its pages are littered with Yamada's personal insights into how creative choices evolved and why entire design directions changed. The book also includes a more traditional format interview as well as discussion about his tools of trade and work area.
